Riccardo Beretta is an Italian artist born in 1982 in Mariano Comense, Como, Italy. He collaborates with the contemporary art project Lucie Fontaine (Milan). ==Work== Beretta’s work has been defined as “conceptual handicraft” 〔Nicola Trezzi, (''CRAFT, From Commodities to Talismans: Modernity as a Remedy to the Aftermath'' ), Flash Art International n. 267, July-Sept 2009〕 and “hypertextual handicraft”,〔Marco Tagliafierro, (''Il Ramo d'oro'' ), Flas Art Italia n.275, April–May 2009〕 due to the production methods and to the highly refined execution of his manufacture, where different historical periods and artistic moments appear as synchronous. In 2009 he had his first one-man exhibition, entitled ''Ti manco a Milano?'' (“Do You Miss Me in Milan?”), in Lucie Fontaine gallery, (Milan). From this experience, and a contribution for ''Call for Proposal: Ri-formare Milano'' (“Call for Proposal: Re-forming Milan”), MiArt Magazine#02,〔G. Di Pietrantonio, F. Garutti, P. Nicolin, (Call for Proposal: Re-Forming Milan ), MiArt Magazine#2, 2009〕 a collaboration with the Pianissimo gallery in Milan started, in the form of a three-day exhibition (May 21–23, 2009), where the artist showed his desire to open an hostel, called ''Ostello Universale'' (“Universal Hostel”), in the centre of Milan.〔Riccardo Beretta, (''Ostello Universale'' ), Galleria Pianissimo (Milan), 2009〕 With Valerio Carubba he worked on the poster design for Performat, the limited edition, long-playing record, composed by Marcella Vanzo for the festival ''Performa 09'' in New York City.〔Marcella Vanzo, (Performance at PERFORMA 09 )〕 In 2010 he took part in the group exhibition ''IBRIDO'' (“Hybryd”) at the PAC, Pavilion of Contemporary Art (Milan), curated by Giacinto Di Pietrantonio and Francesco Garutti. In 2010 he also exhibited in ''Low Déco'' show,curated by Alessandro Rabottini,〔Francesco Scasciamacchia, (''Low Déco - Alessandro Rabottini'' ), Flash Art On Web〕 inside the Villa Necchi Campiglio (Milan), producing a special work for the Villa’s garden. Beretta leaned against a tree a wooden inlay sculpture which imitates a marble surface.
